Advantage comparison of two kinds of stainless steel cutting knives

1. high speed steel choice: high speed steel is mainly used to manufacture milling cutters, drills, taps, Broaches and other sophisticated cutting tools. When W18Cr4V is used, the tool durability is very low, and it is not up to the need. Cutting stainless steel with new high-speed steel cutting tools can achieve better results.

Turning in the same conditions, using 1Cr17Ni2 and 95w18Cr4V tool machining workpiece W18Cr4V two materials, grinding pieces of a process were 2 ~ 3 and 12, with 95w18Cr4V of tool life increased several times. This is because of the increase of carbon content in steel, thus increasing the carbon content in steel, improve the hardness under normal temperature 2HRC red hardness better, 600 degrees from W18Cr4V HRC48.5 to HRC51 ~ 52, the wear resistance of 2 to 3 times higher than W18Cr4V.

Applying high vanadium high speed steel W12Cr4V4Mo to make 1Cr17Ni2 milling cutter can achieve higher tool durability. Because the vanadium content increased, forming the high hardness of VC in steel, fine VC Yu Jing medium, can prevent grain growth, improve the wear resistance of steel W12Cr4V4Mo; red hardness is very good, 600 DEG C hardness up to HRC51.7, thus suitable for the production of stainless steel cutting tool complex. But its strength (sb=3140MPa) and impact toughness (ak=2.5J/cm3) are slightly lower than W18Cr4V, and should be paid more attention when using.

With the continuous development of tool making technology, the cutting effect of carbide, multi blade and complex cutting tools will be better for large quantities of workpieces.

2. hard alloy selection: YG hard alloy with good toughness, can be used before the large angle, the blade can be sharpened, make quick cutting, and the chip and tool is not easy to bond, is suitable for the processing of stainless steel. Especially in vibratory rough and intermittent cutting, the advantage of YG alloy is more important. In addition, the heat conductivity of YG alloy is better, and its thermal conductivity is nearly two times higher than that of high speed steel, twice as high as that of YT alloy. Therefore, YG alloy is widely used in stainless steel cutting, especially in the manufacture of crude turning tools, cutting knives, reaming drills and reamers.
